Everything about coffee... … Coffee plants. Coffee beans. Coffee plantation. Roasted beans. Fair trade. Genesis of coffee drinking. Coffee pots. Coffee cups. Coffee makers. Hand-crafted coffee. Coffee-drinking culture. Coffee and health. Coffee as medicine. Coffee as leisure. Discourse ownership of coffee culture. History of cafes. Politics of world produces. First generation coffee culture. Second generation coffee culture. Third generation coffee culture. Fourth generation coffee culture. Connoisseur perspective. Political history of coffee culture. Coffee academy. Barista. Cafes. Coffee furniture. Coffee-table books. … We are joking!!! Replace “coffee” with any noun — personal obsessions of yours. A tentative thought that may fuel up the slow sip of a cuppa.

Ryan Chung / let the mind speak 5: Loneliness is a Cry for Nothing「

Finding an ensemble of words to give form, thickness and density to flickering thoughts and fleeting sentiments is Ryan Chung’s persistent experiment in his “let the mind speak” series — speaking for its own sake, this time, “loneliness” must imprint its presence… What is the vocabulary of our own loneliness?

Michael Leung / ON LAND 13: There’s No Need to Add Oil Anymore (a fictional story)「

Is it a dream, nightmare, mind escape, or transcendent float in time-space? It takes a fictional moment to fully embody Michael Leung’s many episodes of intergalactic traversal, to regain the potency to enter a boundless performative space.

Linda Lai wrote a poem contemplating the phenomenology of being in love and losing it. Great quotes from the internet were grabbed in search of the male protagonist’s voice, says she. Let’s have a conversation!

The Ventriloquists 01. Description as Storytelling…ask the objects, by Jake Wong

“The Ventriloquists…Thinking Narratively” (4-17 July 2020), begins with the on-line version of Jake Wong’s response to generative literature. | Generative Art –> Creative writing –> A story “generated” by surroundings –> “the window, the door, the cobble and the knife” | To Jake, what he offers is a framework — an initial state of a writing game that is endless with infinite iterations as long as we keep writing. Welcome to join.

An unpublished text by Linda Lai as an observer’s soliloquy on a 12-part interactive sight-and-sound sequence she created with Theresa Junko Mikuriya at the HK Art Biennial 2003.11-2004.01. Lai’s attempt to make sense of their automatic creation… Not an annotation, but an extension in the form of automatic writing describing what she sees on screen, an assertion of narrativity.
