The 2nd of the three book launch events for “Our Manifestos 2: Videography, Documentary Impulse” took place on-line last night with our artists participating from the Los Angeles, London, HK and Shanghai in the form of a webinar. Zach McLane and Linda Lai had a follow-up email conversation in which Zach points out issues for further address — now published as a postscript to the webinar… 「錄像宣言2」新書發佈會2 (網絡研討會)昨晚在據點舉行,受邀參與這計劃的藝術家來自美英中港。會後 LA 的年青創作人 Zach McLane 與黎肖嫻進行了小小的電郵跟進討論,點出了未來有待深化的議題。

Book Launch. Celebration. Meet the Artists. Third book launch event (in Cantonese), 6 June 2021, introduces 4 of the 49 teams/artists in OUR MANIFESTOS 2, to give us a foretaste of the works and personal manifestos in the 365-page book, released on 2 June 2021. ALL are welcome. The new book will be available for sale.

黎仲民的藝術方式通常都悠閒愉快,且以觀眾為主;他堅信觀眾可以令藝術作品變得完整。Lai’s approach to art is generally care-free and audience centred. Andio Lai’s art brings a playful happiness to viewers and exhibition participants; he believes having an audience makes an artwork complete. John Batten spoke with Andio Lai.

Localized Blindness (2019-2020) is Winnie Yan’s most recently completed video work, for Manifesto 2. She spotlit the backstage of the work’s making process, performing the complex world of thoughts and emotions traversing within. 忻慧妍的《局部失明》含蓄如密碼佈陣,定睛創作的後台是另一種風景。與其說是心情和動機上的剖白,不如說是現在進行式的隨著她的思緒找發聲的調韻。聽一個人所訴之白跟看著一個人訴白,是兩個不同的經驗,都源自記錄的衝動。

隨著一個月的《相遇於小誌小文學》,橫洲的居民和居所渡過了最終的清拆,土地正式地劃歸地產商的發展。展覽上有餘音,梁志剛將在「據點。句點」延續駐場直至4月14日。As “Publishing (To Find Each Other)” carried on in the month of March, Wang Chau village in Yuen Long was through its final phase of total demolition to make way for real estate developers. Many unfinished texts (writings and videos) to cover… Michael Leung’s residency at Floating Projects will take two more weeks to round up until 14 April 2021.

街坊排檔 Kai Fong Pai Dong, a neighbourhood street market stall in Yau Ma Tei, emerged around November 2019 during the 17th Hong Kong Social Movement Film Festival. It was a place where once a helicopter hovered over a post-film discussion, members of the community told stories to each other, mutual help enacted via public-space farming… It is an assemblage of site-specific emancipatory politics.
